The public is invited to a free Senior Health Fair at Penobscot Shores on Friday, April 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Ocean House. “We are very pleased to have so many area health agencies participating in the fair and to be able to offer free admission,” said Deborah Harris, Penobscot Shore’s health services manager.
Experts and representatives from area agencies, businesses and organizations dedicated to health and wellness will be on hand to discuss and provide information about a wide-range of topics. Stop by to learn more about community health & wellness resources, fitness and rehabilitation, sleep issues, heart health, diabetes and nutrition, home health and hospice services, aging and disability resources, hearing issues, safety and fraud prevention and so much more.
The Waldo County Sheriff’s Department will be present with their Drug Take Back Program to take unused or expired medications. Balance testing, telehealth demonstrations and blood pressure checks will be available along with free mini-massages and paraffin hand wax treatments.
Light lunch fare will be provided to fair-goers compliments of Penobscot Shores’ Chefs Diana, Charles and Pamela.
As an added bonus, a short play will be put on by first graders from Rockport’s Ashwood Waldoff School at 1:30 in the Penobscot Shores lobby area.
Tours of the community will be available during the health fair and are also offered by appointment. Please call the Penobscot Shores front desk at 338-2332 for more information.
